About me
My name is Caroline Day Cherry, owner of Cherry Day Art! I am an oil painter, specializing in still lifes and the color pink! I live with my fiancé, Minhyun, and our two pets, Maui and Sunny.
Growing up, I attended art classes recreating life-size Van Gogh paintings. When I was eight years old, I painted Starry Night, and of course, I painted the houses bright pink. The paintings I did as a child still hold an impact on my artistic style today.
I continued this passion at Clemson University, where I graduated in 2023, studying oil painting. After graduation, I completed an artist mentorship with Sari Shryack, which encouraged me to start my own business!
I am still working on defining my own artist voice, as this is something I think artists are constantly evolving for themselves. I am currently interested in exploring tablescapes and landscapes.
In my most recent series, Lowcountry Landscapes, I am exploring what southern landscapes and food mean to me. Inspired by many summer trips to Charleston and Hilton Head, I am excited to see where these paintings take me and continue to grow this series.
Shoutout to my parents for always encouraging me, even when I was painting bright pink houses
